Guest blog: Hello, Also I Love You

This week Sue from Hello, Also I Love You is guest posting. Isn't she totally adorable? I love her blog and hope, if you don't already follow her, that you will now!

 I asked these 5 questions:

1) I came to visit and we went out for a night on the town. Where did we go and why?
2) Coffee, tea or neither? Why?
3) What made you start blogging and is that still the reason you blog today?
4) What does your blog focus on?
5) Using the title of a movie, describe your life!

Here are her answers:
1. We'd start with dinner at Yoshino's. It's my favorite place to eat (possibly in the world but definitely in Japan). They cook your food right in front of you so it's dinner and a show. It helps that the food melts in your mouth and leaves you completely satisfied. Then we'd go to either the Karaoke bar they have here which is huge and so much fun or we'd visit a little hole-in-the-wall bar that has pool, old-school Nintendo games and 90's rock music playing all the time. It's a toss up, really.
2. Can I pick both? Coffee is my vice (only the fancy, flavored kind) but I love iced tea on a hot summer's day.
3. I started blogging (5 years ago) because I love to write. I wanted a journal about my life in a fun & unique way. Back then not a lot of people were blogging yet! I've always loved it though and I still think of it as a journal of my life that I happen to let complete strangers read.
4. My blog is all about me. That seems pretty obvious but it's the truth. I talk about everything in my life; my husband, my puppy, my family, my friends, my trials, my triumphs, and everything silly in between.
5. I asked my husband this question and his immediate answer was "Hellboy"- I laughed too hard. For me, I would say "Just Go With It"- My life is nothing like that movie, but the title fits. So far nothing in my life has gone as planned (when I was about 10 I knew exactly what I wanted) and I've learned to just go with it. It certainly makes life more enjoyable and easier to deal with!

I'm Sue and I blog @ Hello. Also, I love you. The title of my blog is in complete reference to my husband Aaron. When he was just my fiance we lived in different countries (he's in the Air Force) and our relationship was through phone/skype/mail. Every time he called the first thing we said was "hello" followed closely by "I love you" and the words just stuck. Now we live in the beautiful country of Japan and try to avoid talking on the phone, but we still say I love you every day. Our life is never perfect (at this moment it's 1:15 in the morning and my husband is stuck at work... on a Saturday) but I always try to find the good in bad situations (like I finally have time to catch up on blogging at 1:15 in the morning!). I'm mildly obsessed with Pinterest so you should definitely come visit me there. I love to spend my days crafting, blogging, pinning, writing, and taking care of our adorable puppy we call Twink. I've turned into one of those annoying people that's in love with their dog and if I think about it too much I get annoyed with my self. I can't help it! He's so dang cute. Every friend I've ever had over to my house has told me they're kidnapping him. So far he still remains in my custody.

Since Brittany said I get to talk about anything I want I'm going to tell you the thing that drives me crazy about Japan. They do not label their streets. It's considered unlucky. You think it's hard navigating a foreign country that has twisty roads, symbols instead of words, and a strange language? Add in no street names and it becomes nearly impossible! We have to rely completely on landmarks to find anything and it can get frustrating. Giving people directions to my house goes something like this: "Go past the bunka house, turn at the windmill, go over some train tracks, take your 5th left..." (no, those aren't the *actual* directions to my house... I'm not stupid) but you get the idea. Aaron and I have learned that when we want to go somewhere new we have to do it with the "hopefully we'll find it" attitude because we may or may not make it to our destination. Sometimes this can be really fun though. We've found some pretty great Japanese temples and prayer gardens this way but I couldn't tell you how to get back to them (luckily I always have a camera). So some advice to you all if you're ever visiting Japan: get directions from someone who knows!

The TTC saga:

*disclaimer* This post is going to have TMI so if you have a problem with knowing what my period is doing this month, don't read it *disclaimer*

It would appear as though the D and C has got me again. On the 22nd I started lightly spotting pink. Being a female, I assumed Aunt Flow was heading my way. I was wrong(?). That spotting continued for 2 more days. The day before yesterday it turned a red/redbrown color but still bearly touched the pad. WTH?! I decided I had had enough and called to make an appointment with my doctor yesterday morning and they got me in at 1.

Doc thought I was either pregnant or the D and C was messing with me. He sent me to the lab to get a pregnancy test. Since they drew blood to make sure I was pregnant last time I figured they would do the same this time so I went to the bathroom before going into the lab. Big mistake. When I went into the lab, they handed me a cup to pee in! GRRRR. I told them I didn't have to pee and they sent the cup home with me and said I could bring it back. It's a 20 minute drive there so I decided to say screw their lab and Ryan and I bought tests last night. I took one and it was negative.

I had a feeling it was going to be negative but I had a sliver of hope that I was pregnant. I don't know why I do that to myself. Month after month, I wait for AF to come. Month after month, she comes. Month after month, my sliver of hope grows thinner and thinner. Now this? I am just about to give up.

Color Swatches: Wet N Wild Megalast

I am *kind of* in love with the new formula for Wet N Wilds Megalast polish. They were having a buy 2 get 1 free sale at my Walgreens the other day so I got 3 and grabbed another one today (sale was over, boo). I am a big fan of not having to put more then 2 coats on and that is EXACTLY how these work so I am very pleasantly surprised.

Here are the colors I got:
I really love them all but I like the right 2 the most!
I decided to add Essie shine of the times to the swatches to show you guys how versatile it is:

(I believe it looks prettiest on these 2 and that is probably the reason they are my fave out of the 4.)

There you have it! At $1.99 a bottle I think they are a total steal!

Freaking GORGEOUS!!!

I just have to share this real quick!
Essie luxeeffect shine of the times:
Tell me that isn't gorgeous!

Nail Files: Cinderella frenzy!

The Nail Files

I adore this color so much that I had to buy the last 2 my Walgreens had. I haven't found it anywhere else.

Please ignore my super ugly cuticles. I have a bad habit of picking them that I am working on stopping lol.
Sinful Colors Cinderella (the blue) has a shimmery pink/gold sparkle to it too. Not sure you can tell that in this photo though. I have Sinful Colors Frenzy on my accent nail (2 coats). I personally think Frenzy looks gorgeous over Cinderella. By the way, I painted my nails with this 2 days ago. This is kind of a record for me lol. I normally change my polish once every other day but I am working on day 3 now! That's how much I love this color :)

The best part about Sinful Colors is that they are only $1.99 a bottle and Walgreens often has sales on them making them .99 a bottle! I usually always get a few at a time!

Sponsers!

I am looking to branch out and have some people sponser my blog and hopefully do some giveaways! If you are interested, please email me at brittany.sommer@yahoo.com =)

It's just another manic Monday...

This morning I woke up at 7:45, the usual time and Mocha and I went downstairs. I fed her, gave her water and went to the bathroom. In the minute I was in the bathroom she got ahold of a box of Somoas. SO, first thing this morning hubs and I had to take her to the vet. They induced vomiting and a couple hours later we were on our way home. I'm really glad Ryan was off today because I would have been a mess trying to get her and the baby I watch in the car. Already have done it once, don't really want to do it too often. It was a pain, lol.

Last night I painted my nail AGAIN and this time it's going to stick because I LOVE them!

The base is ChG Kinetic Candy and the glitter is a mixture of 3 glitter/flakes I put together (totally in love with it!)

Who am I kidding?

My wrists will never get better because I can't keep myself off of here. In my nail files link up, I meant to share this photo:

These are the nail polishes I have gotten in the past 2 weeks. The OPIs are from the new Holland line and I seriously love them. That silver/multi colored glitter is amazing too. When I wear it I feel like there is a party on my fingernails lol.  Here it is over OPIs Pedal Faster Suzi:

It really is much prettier then this photo makes it out to be. If you want it, it's called: Twinkling Glitter by Venique.
If you are curious about what the OPI Holland collection looks like on, here are a few pictures:
This is I Have A Herring Problem and it's a really pretty blue/grey color. It's not quite as dark as the photo makes it out to be.
This is Pedal Faster Suzi and I'm pretty sure it's my favorite out of the 4 I got.
This is called Did You Ear About Van Gogh? and I really like it! It's definitely a good nude/sand color which is pretty popular for the Spring.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of You Don't Know Jacque but it's reallllllly pretty on.

I think I am going to go to Walgreens today and indulge in some Sinful Colors! I am hoping I can find some cute colors that I don't have yet. They have a really pretty glitter called Frenzy that looks a bit like Cults Unicorn Puke/Clairvoyant and I really want it!

Okay, so I lied

I forgot I do my link up that only one person has ever linked up to on Saturday so I have to blog today.

If you walked into my house right now...
You would see this collage
You would think I drank both of these last night. Well, I did but each had less then 1/4 of the bottle left.
You would see we got out Girl Scout cookies yesterday! There are 2 other boxes lol.
You would see that I don't know how to put my nail polish away.
You would see Mocha sun bathing lol.
You would see we are watching Dirty Jobs.

The Nail Files

First, I want to say, I may not blog for a few days because I got rough news from my doctor today: I might have Carpal Tunnel. I have been fighting a never ending battle against the pain in my wrists but yesterday was just the worst. I struggled through crippling pain for a good 5 minutes to open a can of tuna and finally had enough. So my loves, I am going to try to stay off the bloggy blog for a few days to give my poor wrists a rest.

With that, here is the weekly, wonderful nail files link up!

I went crazy and bought like 20 new nail polishes in a week. Seriously. This beauty is called: I have a herring problem and it is from OPIs new Holland collection. I actually got 4 from the Holland collection and there are still a few I want.

I'm not sure why, but it is showing up more green then blue when in reality it is a blue/dark grey color. Maybe this picture will better show it's beauty:

My song

I am feeling insanely helpless lately. Two of my friends are experiencing horrible pain and it completely breaks my heart. One struggling to make her marriage work, the other struggling to deal with being without her husband for 8 months. I wish there was anything I could do to make all the pain go away. I just want to hug both of them, let them cry and tell them everything they need to hear. My song this week goes out to both of them:

Guest posts!

Next week I will be posting a number of guest posts! I am soo happy I got such a great response from some of my readers. If you are interested, feel free to join in the fun by emailing me at brittany.sommer@yahoo.com

Yesterday hubs and I had a nice night in. He made us a yummy steak dinner with sweet corn and mashed potatoes and we had carrot cake for desert. We also finally watched The Help which was a really good movie. I'd recommend it to anyone! It sucked that he was at work so late, but I was happy to have him by my side. We didn't get to spend Valentines Day with each other last year and it really sucked even though he came home from deployment the very next day. That last sentence brings me to a rant. There is a Sailor on hubs ship who just got there a month and a half ish ago and he had the nerve to try to get off early yesterday. That really grinded my gears. What makes him think he is so special that he could get a half day above all the other Sailors with significant others that, mind you, didn't get to spend Valentines Day with their significant others last year? Not to mention, he is NEW and this isn't even the first time he has tried to get out of work early for something ridiculous. He tried to get out of work early one day because his wife had a dentist appointment. Yes, they have 2 kids BUT, if she can't handle taking them with her or finding a sitter, that's just too bad. That is just one of the other times, out of who knows how many, he has tried to get out of work early.

Maybe I am just mad because Ryan gets screwed so often. Most everyone else gets off that ship around 3 or 4 but Ryan gets stuck there until 5 most days. The poor guy is exhausted. He comes home from work every day bearly able to keep his eyes open. It just isn't fair.

Is it the middle of March yet?
Le sigh.

For Valentines Day

I decided to write a mushy, gushy post about Ryan so here it is!

The moment I laid eyes on him, I wanted to know him. The fact that he wouldn't talk to me made me want to know him even more. Once I did know him, I never wanted to let him go. He was one of the best friends I ever had.

When Ryan was on his way to Indiana to visit family for Christmas the thought of him and I was running through my mind constantly. He called and talked to me for most of the 14 hour drive, no joke. At this point in our life, Ryan had already professed his love for me while one bottle deep into Jack Daniels but I was trying to not think about that. After all, he was smammered.
Ryan came to visit me the day after he got to Indiana. As soon as I saw him I wanted to run into his arms and hugs him (It had been almost a year since I last saw him) but I was a bundle of nerves so I didn't. He walked up to me and was like "Give me a hug!" so we hugged and at that point, I don't even know what happened, but sparks flew for me. We went out and hung with some of my friends and I decided I just HAD TO kiss him when we were in McDonalds drive thru. He kissed back, of course.

While he was in Indiana, nothing further happened but I know what was going through both of our minds. Can't even deny that we both had been thinking about the other before we left to come back to Virginia (as friends).

The day after Christmas, we headed to VA. It had been a long, awkward drive and finally Ryan manned up, pulled into that rest stop and asked me to be his one and only. I felt like a high school girl with her first love. It was unreal to me. I think it took a while to sink in, honestly. We held hands for the majority of the rest of the trip and while I was driving (singing and dancing) Ryan was watching me and smiling (didn't have a clue til he told me). We finally got to Virginia Beach and passed out.

The rest of this story tells itself though I don't really remember if I told any of you how badly I wanted to tell Ryan I loved him 2 weeks into our relationship. I knew then what I know now, that I want to spend the rest of my life with this wonderful man.

I love him so much! He is my whole world. He is the reason the sun rises and sets. He is the reason the Earth spins. He is the reason I make it through each and every single day.

I don't believe I ever shared all of these pictures with you guys, so here they are! Our engagement and OFFICIAL wedding photos <3
